Matt Driver – Owner
Matt Driver boasts over 20 years of experience in the field of player education and development in America. He is a former professional player who’s spent most of his career playing in Europe before coming over to play in the former North American Soccer League. He holds an “A” license from the United States Soccer Federation (USSF) and is a National Staff Coach for the United States Adult Soccer Association “USASA”. In addition, he carries a Brazilian “A” license and a Scottish Football Association “A-1” license. Driver holds a Premier License and also served as the National Soccer Coaches Association of America’s (NSCAA) Director of Coaching for the state of Delaware and directed the state’s Olympic Development Program (ODP).
Driver influenced many coaches and his methodologies have produced best-selling books and DVDs. His unique approach to the game focuses on simplicity. Driver’s ability to break the game down allows every player and coach he works with to accelerate their learning curve, regardless of their ability level.
Driver’s experience in professional soccer allows him to network and build relationships with the top players and coaches in American soccer. He founded the Philadelphia Independence women’s pro team (WPS) and became the franchise’s first general manager and head coach. On the men’s side, Driver worked with the New England Revolution (MLS) as their first assistant coach. Driver and his staff took the Revolution from the bottom of the Eastern Conference table to the conference finals.
Driver, a Glasgow, Scotland native, also served as Technical Director and Chief Operating Officer for the South Jersey Barons (USL). Under Driver’s helm, the Barons won several conference titles and a national championship.
Recently, Driver launched several minor league soccer teams that feature homegrown talent. He began in 2011 when he launched the AC Crusaders (NPSL) in Atlantic County, New Jersey. In 2012, the Philadelphia Fever (WPSL – Elite League) and Philadelphia Fury NAL – Men’s Premier Division will play their inaugural seasons.
Ulises Terrones – Assistant GM / Director of PR & Marketing
Ulises Terrones, of Egg Harbor Township, joins the Philadelphia Fever having played for Matt Driver as a youth. Growing up, Terrones played for Mainland United Soccer Club as well as the AC Diablos. The Egg Harbor Township High School graduate went on to earn an athletic scholarship and played college soccer at Immaculata University.
After his soccer career ended, Terrones transferred to Rowan University where he earned a B.A. in Public Relations with a minor in Advertising. During his time at Rowan, Terrones was a member of their award-winning chapter of Public Relations Student Society of America (PRSSA) and worked for Rowan’s student Public Relations firm.
As the assistant General Manager, Terrones is responsible for managing Fever operations.
Terrones is also the Fever’s Director of Public Relations and Marketing. He manages the Fever’s image and is responsible for their social media accounts and marketing materials.
In addition to his management positions, Terrones also spends time on the field as an ASF staff coach.
